C-reactive Protein : The ability of diets to lower cholesterol and C-reactive protein in the blood might be an important adjunct to reducing risk of ischemic heart disease, as well as the more common conditions of atherosclerosis and congestive heart failure.

Ischemic Heart Disease Risk Factors:

Ischemic Heart Disease is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States, accounting for 34% of all deaths. A quarter of all adult deaths in the United States are related to acute contributory unknown causes, of which coronary heart disease is the largest component.  A further quarter of the deaths are associated with the other major causes of death, depression being the largest factor.

– Hypertension, comprised of hypertension and pre-hypertensive individuals;

– Eating Three or more portions of oily fish (e.g., salmon, herring, cod) per week;

– Regular consumption of vegetables, particularly those high in carotenoids;

– Non-processed red wine;

– Green, black and oolong tea;

– Soy isoflavones; and

– Red wine.

Thealternative to these and other risk factorspoisoning your body, is simply to accept the aging process with all its strains andTraits. The alternative is not only wrinkled and sallow skin, but also congestive heart failure and adult-onset diabetes, as well as a much higher risk of stroke.

You can maximize the health benefits of what you have and minimize the health risks by making several seemingly simple changes that affect all the major risk factors. These changes are:

– If you currently drink alcohol, stop;

– If you currently smoke, quit;

– If you are obese, lose weight;

– If you are over Reading,cut down on the consumption of high-fat foods, sugars and sodas; and

– If you are an alcoholic, restrict alcohol to one or two drinks per week.

Whatever you do, you can no longer expect certain significant health issues to Frustrate your efforts to live a normal and healthy life. Take control over the health risks that confront you. Adopt a realistic approach to reducing the risks and enjoy the benefits that will follow.
